MEGA City - Electric carApr 14, 2008

Not that I'm a green related guy, but I always was interested in the alternative sources of energy. So this is why this Mega City Electrical Car has caught my attention at all.

History. The Mega City is an all electric car designed and built in France. (This is probably an advantage for those who like European cars). It is said to be exclusively available from the NICE Car Company.

Kitting. This electrical car usually comes as two-seater, 2+2 model or enterprise model designed for commercial use.

Features:

  • The car possesses exclusively 100% recyclable body
  • Clean, safe and fun transport mean for average people as well as for commercial agents
  • Environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional car (no CO2, no toxic emissions, very quiet)
  • The range provided by the NICE Car Company includes an electric car, electric truck (Multitruck II)and a small range of electric bikes (Vectrix) and scooters
  • No congestion charge, free road tax and free parking (in some cities such as London)
  • Cost effective, saves up to £7000 per year
  • MEGA City is able to lead the way with a range of up to 50 miles and a top speed of 40 miles per hour.

Thoughts: I'd probably want a car like this one just considering its really great specs concerning the environment - which is a very important advantage for me. But, I guess United States (for example) are not ready for cars like these ones. People in USA are not ready to give up speed!!! They are used to powerful cars, and power can be obtained only using fuel.

Anyway, it seams a quite right solution for mega cities. It is quite compact and safe, featuring a perfect vehicle for everyday travel to work and for shopping. Though, it looks not appropriate for long distance travelling by car, because you'll need some recharging every 50 miles and you'll reach the maximum speed of 40 mph which is not enough for high ways. It is the matter of your choice! I opt for electrical cars only in the range of mega cities!

Mooon+ Phone - Touchscreen and bluetooth headset in one!Mar 13, 2008

At first I thought we have to deal with another touchscreen, high end mobile phone, but then I figured out that there is something special about this piece. The concept of this mobile phone – called the Mooon+ Phone – is made to surprise with a built-in Bluetooth Headset. Actually the idea is not a new one on the market, but I have to admit it is executed in a pretty original way.

I was talking about some predecessors of the idea. Well, one of them is WND Atom Van Gogh mobile phone. The one which has as a motto: 'The first handset truly devoted to Wireless Earpiece users'. This exemplar has a built-in detachable Bluetooth Earpiece situated in the back part of the mobile phone.

The Mooon+ Phone we are discussing today is much more interesting to me. Besides the fact that I appreciate the wireless bluetooth headset, I must say that the sleek and clean design is incomparable to its predecessors. The Mooon+ Phone has got a really big and gorgeous touchscreen, metal accents (which make it something else than 'a plastic toy'), a comfortable back clip for the belt (as I assume) and a digital camera. The Mooon+ Phone incorporates all a high end phone might need: camera which can be used for both still photography and video capture; music player which lets users play back music files in MP3 and other formats; etc.

Sunman Kwon – the designer of this masterpiece – has hit the point when decided to make the mouth piece detachable and turn it into a bluetooth headset. I also like the fact that the wireless Bluetooth headset is charging itself while it is not in use. Of course, it might not be the best idea, because it charges at mobile phone's cost, which means it takes energy from your phone, but at some instance it might not be as important as it seams. It's just a matter of choice!

They who have got the chance to hold the Mooon+ Phone in their hands presume that it is a combination between some sort of PSP Phone and iPhone (meaning the design rather then functionality). Others even give some formulas, such as: PSP (TM)+ iPhone(TM)+ Jawbone (TM)! What do you think about this?

So let's resume, what makes this mobile phone brilliant:

  • The headset can be fixed to the phone, which prevents the accidental loss or the possibility to leave it at home or in your car.
  • You can always choose whether you want to be using the phone or the headset.
  • The built-in headset charger via the phone means one less damn cord/adapter to drag around.
  • The compatibility problem between the headset and the phone is solved
Well, gentlemen Hats Off for this piece!

Now, guys think and remember all the times when you either HAD your bluetooth headset with you (when you were in the city) and you didn't need it, or NEEDED it and didn't have it with you, or maybe it was dead. I give my vote for this concept and I think it will make big steps into the mobile phone mainstream. It really seams to me that it is a long-awaited solution to today's mobile users.

Hackenbroich Architekten's Sitscape Seating SystemFeb 10, 2008

This one seams to be a "Star Wreck" sofa! (Forgive me my imagination). This is so called Sitscape is a system for a lounge-landscape. It features 1 metre wide and has an infinite length.

The construction is quite simple using the principle of vertical sections connected by metal elements. This makes it possible to basically engineer the configuration of shapes within this system.

Funny or not but the Sitscape will be sold by “metre”! Thus the costumers will have the choice of various compositions which will be proposed by designer or can be constructed by the customer himself.

The soft furnishings are also made of multiple cushions connected to cover the solicited zones of the Sitscape. This make it possible to form an original upholstery too.

The Sitscape prototype you see on photos is 6 metres long. It was created on specific order and is based on six basic positions. As you can see the composition can have smooth forms along with more hard-edged shapes.

The construction of the Sitscape gives the possibility to adjust certain areas in order to obtain positions of maximum relaxation and comfort. These are called <i>transitional areas, which might offer new and unexpected possibilities. You are free to experiment!

Let's talk about materials. Sections – the main structural elements, are digitally cut out of laminated wood or composite material. The connecting metal elements are made of aluminium. They form spacers between the sections and steel thread rods that go through the sections. The rods are secured by wingnuts giving perfect structural stability. The most visible elements take the main vertical loads while the hidden metal elements give the support for the horizontal and torsion forces.

Well, the construction of Hackenbroich Architekten's Sitscape is as much simple as complex. "True German quality" – as many would have said.

As for me the construction as well as design reminds me of blinds! And frankly saying, though it looks very interesting and innovative, it also seams to me not too comforting.

High Tech NapkinsJan 16, 2008

Who said a napkin can't be more than a 'throw-me-away' piece of paper?! Know that its mission as a dirt/stains/drops remover has come to an end!

Last year we have witnessed several napkin designs, but none of them have so radically changed the concept of it as High Tech Napkin. Let me introduce it! The High Tech Napkin is designed by Avery Hollemanuses and uses e-ink and RF technology, which basically makes it a smart Napkin PC. It is designed for group collaborations, so corporate and fast-response enterprises can use it fully.

How it works?
The kit includes at least 2 pens and several Napkins. Each pen processes and displays information on the napkin which is much like e-ink paper. Then the pen transmits your hieroglyphics to the base station which indeed makes up a PC. So it is about two indispensable processes: 1) processed data is sent to the pen (long range RF); 2) and relaying of the image to the Napkin interface (short range RF).

The Napkin interface represents a multi-touch input e-paper surface. The base station is characterized by an OLED display that gives status information only. E-paper requires so little energy that it can be inductively powered. The pen wirelessly powers the Napkin interface when it comes within range. E-paper can retain its bright, full color image even without power. E-paper display has the property to retain image excluding the need to print.

How to use?
Whenever you get a fresh idea you can put it on a Napkin! It is better to use a fresh Napkin for each new idea. At a brainstorming meeting you may pass the ideas around, add to each other's idea, thus work efficiently together. You can also connect Napkins to make a larger interface. Portable unit holds 2 pens and several rolled Napkins.

It is enough to sign your name to load your personal settings, preferences, bookmarks, etc. Pens can log who creates an idea so that credit can be given later. Pens come with various colors to prevent confusion.

Advantages:

  • The Napkin PC replaces printers
  • It wastes no paper
  • The only part you'll need to replace (after several years of intensive use) is the Napkin interface
  • It has no battery. It is provided with a thin single layer flexible circuit board with an inductive power circuit
  • Easy to recycle. Only the plastic and circuit layers are recycled being peeled apart and melted down separately. There are no hazardous elements to deal with

Dimensions:
1. Napkin interface: 180x180 mm (2 mm thick);
2. Pen Stylus: 140 mm

PMP - No TouchscreenDec 11, 2007

Most of the guys I know are into the craziness of PMP (portable media players)! Every single day they wait for something new in the world of PMPs, hanging out in the dedicated forums, etc. I bet a new concept of a PMP with no touchscreen would rush their blood!

I wonder, are people ready to control their gadgets without even touching them!? I doubt that! I still think that people like touching their gizmos. It gives you a specific feeling of control! You like the way it feels when touching buttons or the analog controls; you like to feel in charge of the process; etc. So, I guess less touchscreen control doesn't mean more pleasure. I'd rather say less touchscreen control is more innovative approach – that's all.

This No Touchscreen PMP is presented by the designers such as Mathieu Pesme and Jeff Castel. The two use conceptually new technologies (though they don't get into details which are these).

The presented PMP comes equipped with a subsurface OLED widescreen and a simple dropped bevel around the bezel. The last one is designed to wind headphones in. You will also find tactile control wheel and integrated stereo speakers.

I have to recognize that the two things I appreciate in this model is the natural touching (analog controls) concept and the evolution of the mobile devices.

P.S. Too bad guys! I have to disappoint you saying that this is nothing but a concept. Thus, you should forget about picking one up in the 'next-to-door' store as it is only a concept for the future, which is not guaranteed to be created in the nearest future.

24 Karat Gold Plated MacBook ProNov 14, 2007

24 Karat Gold Plated MacBook Pro

Everything that is Mac tends to amaze! As a true fan of all that's Mac, I can't skip the celebration of something new about it. The 24 Karat Gold Plated MacBook Pro is not another upgrading of hardware, and it isn't even related to Apple! Let's get into it for a bit... well, the computer (the very inside we put worth in) is actually a 2.2 or 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 2GB of RAM and a 160GB internal drive. The big deal about it is that it is gold plated allover – keyboard, housing, etc., and optionally can include the diamond-encrusted Apple's emblem.

It probably doesn't make sense for those who take MacBook as an irreplaceable work tool. It seems that this glamorous look of the lap top can distract attention from what you are actually doing on it.

This gold-plated MacBook is actually the idea of Computer Choppers. Steve Jobs would definitely like the metamorphosis of MacBook, Computer Choppers can perform. You can benefit from two versions: 1) a 24-karat gold-and-diamond version, with the diamonds filling the Apple logo, or 2) the plain gold version. The diamond version has approximately 2 karat total weight in diamonds, which might make a gorgeous wedding ring.

Computer Choppers promises to turn your MacBook into a gold brick within 2-4 weeks. It'll cost you $ 1,200-$ 1,500, some even speak about sums such as $ 6,000 and $ 9,000.

The customized MacPro comes with a one-year warranty (hardware, plating, and custom painted keyboard/track pad). The kit also includes extra case feet, a microfiber cleaning kit, a Radtech Sleevz and screen protector.

The only thing I'm worried about is that this shiny, big gold brick can attract undesired glances, and finally can be stolen. What I'm gonna do then?

PS. The 'predictors' say that the next project of Computer Choppers will probably be a 24-inch aluminum iMac.

Roberta Ramme's Wave ChaiseOct 12, 2007

Roberta Ramme's Wave Chaise

Is the tendency to combine comfort and functionality an exclusively man's point? Well, I guess not, because the very stuff you see in the picture is actually designed by a woman. The difference is that Roberta Rammê has also added beauty to comfort and compactness.

Roberta Rammê presents a wave designed chaise lounge. It is something that reminds the well known Latin saying "Omnia mea mecum porto" (I carry my all with me).

This complex furniture construction includes a wave-shaped bed featuring the latest ergonomics and technology tendencies. Do you want to watch TV or DVD? What about listening to your favorite CD? Want some comfort for reading or sleeping? Or maybe you need to surf the net or simply talk on the phone? YOU ARE WELCOME! This multifunctional chaise lounge is a all-in-one piece adapted to the high tech values.

I bet not only the youngsters will be inspired by the perspective to benefit from the compactness and handiness of this furniture. People who like permanent changes, or simply desire something conceptually new will welcome an innovation like this one.

Intense colors, original execution, beautiful apparel, comfortable and compact design are just a few advantages to mention. The idea is not just to make life easier and things more efficient; it is also about representing personality! You can have a wave chaise lounge that will characterize you and only you.

I have to admit that this kind of inventions are mostly efficient in countries where the access to technology is cheap and easy. Anyway, if you want it who can stop you from having it? Open your eyes, look wider to the world that surrounds you! Do you want to follow standards?

Laptop To Desktop - Transformers!Sep 06, 2007

Not long ago people were inspired by laptops! The only problem with laptops was that they climbed down if compared to desktops. Today everything is different – laptops have caught up with desktops, when it is about specs, and exceeded them in terms of comfort and portability.

The comfort and the need to use a PC (mainly Internet) wherever you need it comes as a major priority and PC portability is a most wanted feature. On the other hand, there are people such as Yong-Seong Kim – the designer who considers that we have come to a point when we need it vice-versa: to transform a laptop in a desktop. (Watch out it's from the "Transformers"!) The designer actually offers a really ingenious docking solution. Yong-Seong Kim's solution is just a response to the existing demands on the gadgets market!

The very idea consists of a huge slot behind the LCD display, that allows you to slide your laptop in without too much effort. This makes it possible for you to use all data you have on your laptop accessing it as you'd do from a regular desktop. The very display of the laptop can also be used as a secondary screen, this time vertically.

I must be honest the concept sounds and looks pretty good, but it is rather more eye candy than practical.

The question I ask myself is – how am I going to use it? The answer is 'just the same as I'd have done with my regular laptop'. So, why do I need it then?

Throwing away my cynic moods, I can admit the fact that this creation is meant for those who want it work FANCY, but it is less attractive to those who want it JUST work!

By the way, some tend to somehow compare the concept of the "laptop-transformers" with the Palm Folio. Well, for me it's not really like that. See for yourself whether it suits you or not!

Digital Cowboy MP3 GlassesAug 10, 2007

Digital Cowboy has recently released a model of sunglasses that can also play MP3 and WMA files. Well, at the first glance I've decided they are rather "Mission Impossible" glasses than "Cowboy" ones. But anyway they look just great!

When pieces like these ones come on market, you always feel like your day by day sunglasses were terribly missing something!

Specifications: These MP3 glasses feature bit rates supported range from 64kbps to 320kbps. It provides 1GB of internal memory. These specs should keep a smile on your face for long! And as I was told they come with polarized lenses, which is great when considering some real protection for your eyes. You can be sure they will keep your eyes from ultra-violet radiation.

The manufacturer has taken care of your ears too. The earphones are built into the glasses, and NO, you won't be able to take them off. So it's an option for those who don't want to see and listen to the surrounding world.

Materials: I'd like to say that they are made of French glass and rimmed with super rare metal alloy, but sorry guys it's not the case! It is about simple polarized lenses and impact resistant plastic. Which is again great, because otherwise you wouldn't be able to afford it. By the way you can get them for about , or maybe even less as the summer passes by.

Design: The design seams to be a thought-out one. This is firstly, because they lean tightly to your face, which is especially comfortable when jogging, cycling, hiking, etc. Secondly, they are not designed to be used only in summer. What about skiing and the mountains' sunny days?

Besides, the manufacturers and designers (as I suppose) intended to create a gadget that links the ideas of comfort and sport. The glasses are created to make your day sufficing your need for musing and fitting your sport style.

Magnetic Massage Cushion. Healthy ComfortJul 13, 2007

Have you ever wondered why Chinese live more than other nations? Let me tell you! All that things we usually call "Chinese boloney" such as acupuncture, point and vibra massages, herb teas, special diets, etc. -- are actually working!

You probably won't have the chance to try them all, but let me tell you about one Chinese related device – Magnetic Massage Cushion – that makes me feel just wonderful. Why Chinese related? Well, because this cushion uses vibra-massage and heat treatment in keeping with the best Chinese medicine traditions.

Imagine: Alaska, winter, you (a truck driver), and 10 hours of ongoing driving! Unless you are superman you'll get your butt frost-bite and gummy. Solution? Get a comfortable, heating and massaging sit. I solved the problem using an all-in-one invention - Magnetic Massage Cushion. Not a big deal but solves a lot of problems making it possible to just efficiently relax when you need it the most.

This device is designed to lay on the neck, shoulders, waist and legs and provides heating on buttocks. This acts just like thermotherapy and is able to work together with the massage function. Besides, its vibration massage equals to Chinese point massage. As a result this improves blood circulation and recovers the elasticity of spine, muscles and ligaments.

What you don't feel but is also included is the magnetic massage which provides curing effects on your lumbar muscles (most exposed ones when it is about long sitting). This helps a lot when you need to get rid of discomfort in your back or various backaches.

Which is quite great about this invention is its ability to perfectly fit home, office or car environment.

Some features a user might be satisfied of are:

  • 8 vibration massage modes
  • 30 minutes automatic functioning
  • adjustable intensity, frequency, speed
  • built-in microcomputer with LCD

You'll probably not reach the euphoria when using such a cushion, but I'm more than sure that it will make you feel better. This is one of the things I started to love Chinese for!

Seesaw CellphoneJun 28, 2007

When technology seams to reach its limits, design do makes a difference!

I was never able to guess how far can human mind go when it is about cell phone design. It seams that when it comes to cell phone design there is no much ground for experiments. Still some designers, such as Karsten Willmann, have the gut to step on the edge between reality and fantasy.

Seesaw Cellphone feels like a new expression of the cellular phone, like a man-to-man talk. At last its design talks in this terms. Though, I'm rather fond of creations such as Nao Tamura Cell Phone (one-piece transparent skin cover which makes you visualize colorful semi-conductor material), this one excites too with its fully packed construction, high precision and new approach.

At his turn, Karsten Willmann looks to be fond of concept design that combines high contrast OLED display and unbelievably thin forms. Additionally, the cell phone features a simple interface, comfortable numeric keypad (with soft keys) and a supporting 'foot' in the back-center part.

By the way, the design has already been criticized for this 'foot' as it seems to disrupt the harmony of the design. The irony is that the odd construction is exactly the thing that gave this cell phone its name!

It should be mentioned that the protruding bulge is not an accidental whistle of the designer. While the Seesaw phone is positioned on its back the screen stays angled which makes it more legible. Besides, the protruding bulge is hiding a camera and a flashlight. Needless to mention that such construction use to protect the surface of cell phones from scratches avoiding the full contact of the device with other surfaces.

Men's loyalty towards high-end technologies, sophisticated materials, stylish design and devices' functional character – isn't to be questioned! As for me, this phone has it all. That is why I refer to Seesaw Cellphone as to a men's one! It is like we speak the same language!

Fashion Watch by Zviad TsikoliaJun 13, 2007

An everlasting question penetrates my mind: Why people continue to design watches, when there are a lot of devices to feature this function?! Then the answer came: It is about classics, tradition, and lifestyle.

Watches have come a long way throughout the history and they have gained a specific signification – some kind of hidden meaning. Zviad Tsikolia, a well known watch designer has probably thought about this when conceived the idea of this Concept Fashion Watch.

The way it functions is totally amazing! Fashion Watch is actually made of modern materials, featuring an electronic date and time indicators. A couple of characteristic circles perform the role of hands. The electronic date indicator can be displayed virtually anywhere on the face of the watch.

Being made from modern materials, the watch still works using already known technologies.

It is interesting that the winding mechanism is mounted on the upper zone of the Fashion Watch. It is very convenient because it doesn't leave any trace on your wrist as watches usually do.

I always wondered how far watch designers can go to create the watch of the future. Now I know for sure that there are no limits for new ideas even when it is about such a field as wrist watch design.

Many of my friends are convinced that Fashion Watch having a trendy look, is still rather uncomfortable to use. Well, I guess it is just a matter of time! Besides the key feature of this watch is rather its design then the functionality. It is a watch for people who are used to break the habits and have an expressed lifestyle!

This Fashion Watch looks like a tiny one, that's why I wonder whether men would prefer it to a balkier one (ex. Rolex). Undoubtedly, the unique style of this watch will keep its owner at the center of attention! Though, I wouldn't give one to my girlfriend and certainly wouldn't take one for myself.

MacTabMay 11, 2007

You can always tell when a man has been involved in the design of a product! This is first of all by the austere and no-frills shapes. MacTab keyboard is one of these products being designed by Yann Le Coroller. This ultra portable tab is meant to be a stylish complement to MacBook.

I guess, the designer knows pretty well that men can't live without at least two things – cars and PCs/laptops (the third would be women :)! In my case the priorities are just like that. The perfect story would be -- a trip by car (my favorite Porche), with my MacBook (and its MacTab accessory) on the back sit and my girlfriend to my right hand (a short skirt would be just in place).

However, knowing the facts that: 1) women favor what is the best in this world; 2) women are more organized than men; and 3) women tend to work even on holidays and vacations, then I bet a lady would get a MacTab too. And almost any would certainly do that if MacTab fits the interior of her office or bedroom!

What I like the most about MacTab is that it is incredibly thin and is a perfect wireless keyboard. Apple's MacTab looks like a tablet on your desk. It has a protection cover for transportation and is provided with magnets and notched parts to stay in place. I was surprised to know that it can be used both horizontally and vertically. It turns out that there is a hinge to enable vertical position on the back of the computer.

What my girlfriend likes about MacTab is that it has a sleek design and soft and sensitive surface. Besides, it is not sliding on the desk. The most important thing about this is (attention!!!) that the problem of pulled out keyboard's wire (by her long and restless legs) is solved!

I'm more than sure that Apple's designer Yann Le Coroller wanted more than a functional and portable keyboard, he wanted to create another shot of beauty to pleasantly surprise loyal consumers. Well, I must be honest – he did surprised me greatly!

Driving Targeted Male Traffic into the KitchenApr 08, 2007

I suspect that Philips decided to make the kitchen popular for the guys. I mean, it's already popular because of the fridge and the beer in it, but Philips suggested the its new gadget: the Philips DCD778 docking station.

Philips DCD778 Kitchen iPod DockThe device is meant to drive more targeted male traffic into the kitchen: so that this 'traffic' comes in, sees the gadget handing and the pictures it should, or the music it plays and spends some time in that place, called kitchen.

The Philips DCD778 is another docking station for the iPod. No wonder. It's the iPod era and Philips just can't stand aside of all this technology and gadget boom.

The device can be attached anywhere in the kitchen, of course if you find some place there (if you don't - clean up). It is equipped with an 8.5 inch LCD display (the main part of it), which will magnify anything from your iPod's display. However, this video files playback function could be limited to the abilities of the iPod you're using. I mean, if you iPod can't playback such files, neither will the DCD778.

As for the functions the kitchen gadget Philips DCD778 can boast of are the built-in tuners, DVD, CD playback ability and AM/FM radio (so why do we need the video files' playback?).

This gadget may probably not be fully equipped to provide you and your family with the full range of media services for entertainment, like cable TV, game console and so on, but its stylish look will give some more technology aesthetics to your kitchen.

On the other hand this rather small device is fully equipped to entertain a family during their meals and will probably keep the kids around too. If you thought that besides your wife and the fridge there's nothing worth your attention down there, you're probably wrong. Maybe your wife's already turned into a perfect woman and bought this gadget for you? The pricing is not too high, you know - only 0.

And speaking of you, ladies (if there are any visiting our blog), this would be a very good tool to keep your spouse around for sometime, or maybe even make him clean up the table or even wash the dishes. Consider the Philips DCD778 gadget as on option in achieving this goal. Maybe the sentence "Honey, would you wash the dishes while the film is still on" will become a must after every dinner.

Another CeBIT - Further Razer NoveltiesApr 02, 2007

This year's CeBIT has been kindly offered some 2 square yards in Hanover, Germany. On this limited space hundreds of leading technology companies have managed to place their stands to display their newest accomplishments in their particular sphere of activity.

Macko 2.1 acoustic system from RazerThe Company Razer, which is known for its innovative ideas in the sphere of different PC peripherals and accessories, has presented the wide public its newest acoustic system. the Macko 2.1 is a 2.1 acoustic system, which, according to the statement of its developers, is the first ever sound system to support the THX Ground Plane technology and the THX Slot Speaker technology.

The two technologies are meant to improve the sound produced by the system. This improvement is being achieved by removing the sound artifacts, which are produced when the sound waves reflect from the table or any other surface. This way the Mako 2.1 sound system produces pure and high-quality 3D sound.

Mako 2.1 is based on the Bi-amplified system. This system features 2 amplifiers in every speaker, thus providing each of the two speakers with a total power of 100 Watt. In addition the set is complemented with a 100 Watt sub-woofer. This way the overall power of the Macko 2.1 is about 300 watt!!! The range of frequencies of this gadget is between 30 and 20,000 Hz. All these features make the Macko 2.1 the best choice for hardcore gamers and music fans: this acoustic system will satisfy their need in every acoustical detail they would ever want to hear.

So you see that the Macko 2.1 is quite a powerful piece, and according to the picture it is also a stylish one. I think it would look nice at my gradma's fireplace. For listening relaxing music like Bach, Mozart... and shooting all those bad guys down in Counter-strike!

Unfortunately there was still no word the pricing of this sound system, but I guess it'll be affordable, though not for many. As you know Razer wouldn't make anything that you couldn't describe as WOW, or OWESOME, or GREAT. These guys know what there doing.

So enjoy the sound and Cheers!

Gas-o-Haul - Flatten, Hide and ForgetMar 27, 2007

And we continue the 'tools-for-boys theme'!

Gas-o-Haul - the savior on the roadIf you've run out of gas somewhere in the middle of nowhere and there's no help to be expected, the only guy you can ask help from would be YOU. You'll have to find something suitable to carry some fuel from the gas station.

One thing that might be of assistance in this situation is a small yet very useful Gas-o-Haul device. This is a gadget that any driver would appreciate... and not just appreciate, but in some cases, like the one described above, even worship.

The Gas-o-Haul is a kind of an old "emergency can", which for some time now are no longer available at gas stations. However, this gadget is something unique, because when empty, it doesn't require much space in you car trunk. You can make it flat, put it under the trunk carpet, or whatever else you've got there, and hit the road safely.

The Gas-o-Haul container provides storage for one gallon of fuel, but as already mentioned, this gadget has a very convenient ability to flatten. However, if you plan a picnic, you might fill the Gas-o-Haul with any liquid you like drinking.

I think those guys, and not only guys, will know the true price of such gadget, who have already been in such situations: being stuck on the road and you can't find a container for additional fuel anywhere (and there are not many cars ready to help you out in this situation).

Gas-o-Haul - the gadget you can flatten and forgetOh yes! I forgot to mention that the Gas-o-Haul set also contains a tube, so that you pour that fuel into the tank without any problems.

The price of the flat and easy-to-stare gadget is of only $ 10, so it won't be a problem purchasing such a fuel container.

So guys... take your wallets, your keys and get out there to get yourself a Gas-o-Haul... you can get me one too. My address is... kidding! I've already got one, but I don't know when I'll get a chance to use it... I was banned from driving for live... 'Driving under LSD'. No, I'm not that insane... I didn't take LSD, I guess it was something else.

Anyway... Gas-o-Haul is gooood.

Must-Have Tool Kit for Adult ChildrenMar 19, 2007

I know that most of the boys are very curious about seeing 'what's inside that box' and this is probably one of the trails of the childhood that will never go away.

Zoozen ToolkitI think the console lovers understand what I'm talking about because whenever you get yourself a new game console, you test-drive it, play some cool games, but then comes the fun part! You want to have a look inside that gadget!

This is where you very often say "Oh NO!", because the screws holding the gadget together always have a strange shape so that no one can get in.

However the is a solution for all you curious ones and let-me-see-what's-inside-that-box guys. The Zoozen Pro Tool Access kit, which allows you to forget about this problem. This tool kit will allow you to open any gadget.

If you're thinking about console modding the Zoozen tool kit is the perfect thing for you, as with its help you can get into Xbox, Xbox 360 and their controllers, into Wii, GBA, DS, DS Lie, GameCube, Nintenti and Gamecube cart... wow there's many, but it's still not all... PS3, PS2, the portable PS and I don't think I'm familiar with the rest.

So if you there was a thought in you dark, striving-for-knowledge mind to open such consoles, your dreams might be closer to reality from now on. The fun part about all this is that this tool kit costs just about $ 15 - its nothing when you really want to get inside a Sony Playstation!

Zoozen Pro Tool Access kitYou will also find a lot of application for the Zoozen Pro Tool Access kit anywhere else in the house. From my experience, I could tell you that there are dozens of gadgets in my house, which have this weird screw form, and it's not that easy using a screwdriver to get them out of there.

Most recent example from my ultra boring life was to see what's inside a mobile phone charge. If seen it dozens of times, but I wanted to look inside this one. I'm just a kid, you know! But this triangle screw became so annoying after a two hours' siege, so I just broke the think into two halves. And you know what, I didn't get the true satisfaction of nicely opening the device, taking the screws out, putting them aside... Well, it's not what I needed.

If you have already made an order, then you can start gathering some cool stuff to modify your console, as it needs no longer be this dull!

So I guess the Zoozen tool kit will help all us, adult children, out. I'm praying for it!

Samsung presents it's FESTIVAL Plasma TVMar 12, 2007

Samsung, with another "world's first"!

The new "Cannes" Plasma TV is an absolutely new, or maybe not so absolutely, TV set from Samsung - probably the world's leader in electronics and in being the world's first manufacturer to always make world's first gadgets.

What does it have what other TVs from Samsung don't? Well, first of all, and I guess the most important, is the girl standing next to it. She's very pretty and is a very important part of the TV set itself, because if she's gone, no one would ever need the "Cannes" Plasma TV from Samsung. Just kidding! But I really like the girl though, I guess I'll write her a letter if I find her address by some miracle.

Samsung's So let's see what the manufacturer himself - Samsung Electronics Ltd. - says about this nifty gadget. I mean the TV, not the chick! They say that among the technologies worth to mention the most worth-to-mention are the Ultra Daylight, Real Motion Studio and the Natural True Color technology. How they improve the quality and the sales of this TV, I could only guess, but it sounds cool and it is always a MUST when announcing a novelty: you should always think of some cool words to name the new technologies. But some of the upper mentioned are described further on.

Other sources say that the TV has an ability to change the contrast of the image displaying, in accord with the time of the day (or lighting). For example in an absolutely dark room the display would adapt itself to a contrast ratio of 15.000:1, whereas a bright room would sink this ratio to 1.000:1.

This fluctuation of the contrast ratio is achieved thanks to the technology already mentioned in that worth-mentioning category. I'm speaking about the Ultra Daylight technology.

The other innovation in this gadget - the Real Motion Studio technology - has taken care of a crystal clear image. Due to this technology the image is being cleared of the blurred outlines and an unclear text.

If already interested, I'm glad! Because I am too. As for the place to buy the gadget - can't tell you anything. However the price is something I'm able to share.

As far as I know, the "Cannes" Plasma TV was issued in a series of models. I won't use my blog's space to tell you all the prices, but some of them are: about $ 2.125 for the 42-inches version of the TV; almost $ 3.500 for the 50-inches wide "Cannes" Plasma TV in your room; and about $ 9.400 - for the model with an absolutely clear image, I mean the High-Def "Cannes".

If you find this beauty somewhere around, please let me know. I'm dying to connect to it my good old PS2 (and maybe even try it out with the PS3 sometimes, when it gets cheaper than a space shuttle).

P.S.: And guys, don't focus on the picture, because it's hypnotizing. It's got everything a man needs: a wide-screen TV; a hot girl next to it (and she's not yelling at you) and a snack bar on the background. This is disturbing!

CrOOzing the BoozeMobileMar 01, 2007

I think everyone's had such days, when you just can't do anything about it and you just don't want to do ANYTHING!!! You'd sit back on your couch, you'd just sip on your favorite chilling drink and relax, don't having to rush at every call you hear.

On the other hand, just sitting on the couch won't do the thing' for example I can't sit like this longer than 10 minutes. I always need something to occupy my hands with, something like... no not that. I meant something like the Booze Cruze Remote Control Car.

This little RC car is probably the perfect thing for the drivers born with a steering wheel in their hands. I mean when you have a dilemma and you can't decide whether you should drink some beers or drive a car, you can do both... of course only virtually, in a way.

On the other hand you can make your car 'fetch' your drinks from the kitchen. All you need for this is a Booze Cruze and a wife (girlfriend) in the kitchen to prepare the drinks and to place them on the little trunk (Note: the wife or the girlfriend is subject to be substituted by any other human being, except the driver of the Boozer Cruzer).
When I first got my hands on the remote control of this gadget I was so obsessed by it that had the car always somewhere near me. I mean, it was like a pet, a toy and a best friend (no one would actually bring you so many drinks for free, they all would need a drink too, and the RC car need a battery).

If you ask me what you can do with the gadget, I'd say that just about EVERYTHING. The main ingredient for this is the lazyness. I mean, if you're something like "I wanna do something" the Booze Crooze is nothing for you.

So now back to the "just about everything" part. Think of it, you can race against your buddy (if he is one of the lucky possessors of this gadget), you can fetch drinks, you can just have fun with it. Oh yeah, there's one more thing to mention: the set is supplied with four additional traffic cones - a great help in your driving lessons, if you still didn't pass the exam because of drinking.

But seriously speaking, the Booze Cruze RC Car is actually a rather useless gadget. If you get addicted to it, like I did, you'll have wasted a great deal of time (this was my common sense speaking - not me). However if you have some 40 bucks in your pocket (this is me again), you should have something like this gadget in your household... just in case: you'll surely have some time to spend driving while drunk. The best thing about it is that you won't get fined by the police for DUI. Oh, another thing: the set includes two cones for practicing your technique of driving a car with a glass full of something on the roof.

But beware! If you get addicted to this gadget, which is very possible, you'll have a lot of explanations to do! Trust me!

Merging Speed and Performance into One Gadget - ASUS Lamborghini VX2Feb 16, 2007

The second coming of the ASUS Lamborghini - half a sport car, half a laptop - almost happened, though it still might last a bit.

It's been almost a year since first pieces of information about the first Lamborghini - the VX1 - reached us. If you look now at it and at the relation between the price and the number of positive feedbacks about this gadgets, you understand that people have realized its true value. Since the VX1 made it on the marker there have been sites posting reviews, comments and simple post about this gadget. This way the Lamborghini series from ASUS became extremely popular.

The popularity of the laptop might be explained not only by the brand name ASUS, but by the name of the series - Lamborghini. I mean there's hardly a guy who wouldn't, at least once, dream of driving a Lamborghini - the sportiest of all the sports cars. But ASUS made it possible to hold this wild beast in your hands, having it on your knees and pushing its keys.

So anyway, this popularity gave the creators of VX1 the idea that there should be another model in the Lamborghini series. It's a series, after all, and a series must have at least two models in its range. So they have come up with the ASUS Lamborghini VX2.

The strategy of giving us information on this gadget was the same as in the case of VX1: it was like waving a nice, juicy bone in front of a dog's nose. In other words: they gave us almost nothing.

Many of the gadget geeks were really disappointed with the history repeating (and I fully support them in this), but I guess it's better than absolutely nothing. Now we have at least something to speculate on. I'll be thinking how it'll be, how fast, what will be it's 'interior' and so on. You know, because at this point we know almost nothing about it... not more than there will be two external variants of the VX2: a traditional yellow a black, both with the Lamborghini logo, of course.

The only thing known about the interior is the CPU, which will be an Intel Centrino Duo. However, as much as I love Intel, I couldn't say that it would match half of the Lamborghini powers. But it is absolutely the best candidate for the role of second fastest gadget!

After the launch of Vista all over the world, they stuff it everywhere; even the Lamborghini VX2 will have it onboard (why spoil such a gadget?)

Well, I guess we'll catch up more on this topic later in this year, and I guess ASUS should organize a full time presentation this April at CeBITT 2007. And be sure to see me there, VX2, my boy!
