Despite various rumors about the quality of search engines the leading one remains Google followed by his "fellow" companion Yahoo. The two were able to increase the number of clients during December of 2005. This is due to several new developments that the American internet users seemed to like.
Google's first place was held on the United States search market with an increase by 0.4 percent. The total of the company's share is now 47.7. The good news reached Yahoo as well. The company was able to raise its share up to 28.5 percent.
Throughout December Yahoo became popular by 0.3 percent in comparison with the previous month. Microsoft's MSN remained third, although its share on the U.S. Web search market decreased by 0.5 percent, reaching the 10.5 percent point.
Ask.com, being the privacy of IAC/InterActiveCorp, is fourth with 5.4 percent. Users liked less the services that the website provides and so, during December the shares of ask.com decreased by 0.1 percent.
Apart from its competitors Google was able to gain its share in 16 month taken from the last 17. ComScore stated that Google is the largest internet market in the world.
ComScrore mentioned that the number of queries, made by U.S. internet users, increased by 30 percent comparing to December of 2006. All in all users performed about 3.2 billion searches with the help of Google and 1.9 searches made through Yahoo sites.
