Apple Always Protects Its Products» Science, Technology and Internet [Jan 17, 2007] |
When Apple presented its new device called iPhone, the gadget instantly started gaining popularity. Having an iPod and a mobile phone in one, the iPhone was more than successful.
However, its success turned into war between Apple's lawyers and those that enjoyed the interface of iPhone. The latter simply started using specific software to install iPhone interface on their smart phones, especially Palm OS and Windows Mobile.
Apple looks forward to chase programmers that use iPhone's icons, skins and interface in other smart phones. The company's lawyers are working on removing images from other applications besides the ones used by Apple's iPhone.
One may already find on the net an iPhony launcher that sets iPhone interface on Palm OS and Pocket PC.
Thus people will not wait months till they will be able to use iPhone icons. The soft allows dragging Apple's new gadget's interface onto any smart phone.
This is why Apple became concerned with the misuse of its product's features and started chasing those that violate the copyright law.
Lawyers have already started a campaign of removing unauthorized attempts to use iPhone's material. In his article "Apple Bullies Bloggers, Again", Michael Arrington, who works at TechCrunch, said that "chasing bloggers is a complete nonsense". TechCrunch is a weblog that reviews new products and companies that exist within the World Wide Web.
Arrington mentioned that going after those that created iPhone-looking Windows Mobile skin it quite understandable, but it is another matter when bloggers are being chased because of simple reporting.
How will it all end is to to be found out, but till then some people are already enjoying their new iPhone interface.
